  David Splane, born in 1944 started pioneering in September 1963. A graduate of the 42nd class of Gilead, he served as a missionary in Senegal, Africa, then for 19 years in the circuit work in Canada. He and his wife have been at Bethel in the United States since 1990, where Splane has worked in the Service and Writing departments. Since 1998, he had been a helper to the Writing Committee. Announcement for appointment to the Governing Body was made at the annual meeting on Saturday, October 2, 1999. (Watchtower 1/1/2000 page 29)

  Mr. David Splane has been at Bethel for the last 30 years where his health care is paid for, has free room and board, has 3 free meals per day, probably has an automobile with free insurance, no laundry, house duties, or house repairs.

  He wakes up each morning without a financial care in the world. His workload is to prepare convention talks like this one where the whole objective is to make members feel guilty about missing boring and repetitive meetings while the unemployed are trying to provide financially for their families!

  '' Has your desire to put Jehovah first been tested during this pandemic? You lost your job and you searched for another one. Finally, after a long search, you found one but it was a job that would require you to miss all your meetings and field service. What a temptation to take that job! You've been out of work for months. You felt helpless because a family member is supposed to provide for his family. It would take a lot of faith for you to refuse that job. Pray to Jehovah and then wait. Hold on a little longer to see what Jehovah would work out for you.''

  Here is Mr. Splane ( smug and out of touch ) telling Jehovah's Witness members who have lost their jobs during this pandemic to refuse any employment which would interfere with meetings and field service. Jehovah will/ can/might/should/ provide for you with future employment. He doesn't explain how Jehovah would help and provide for you.

  Mr. Splane fails to see that he has a roof over his head, food, medical care, auto, and insurance provided for him. Your problems are not his problems.

  Mr. Splane..if tomorrow you were kicked out from your cushy assignment, where would you go to pay all your expenses? Would you refuse employment? How would Jehovah provide for you? At your age Mr. Splane, the odds of you finding employment would be close to zero.

  The modern-day ''golden calf '' worship is no different than the Israelites!

  Another year, another convention! This convention promised true happiness if you knew where to look in this problem-filled world! Look at all the smiling faces and rejoicing these brothers and sisters are experiencing living under the Watchtower Society's umbrella.

  Are you physically ill, unemployed, facing financial ruin, going through a divorce, and trying to find solutions to this problem-filled world? Well, we will make you forget this problem-filled world's problems with some of our own!

  We will create new problems for you that you never imagined: family divisions, shunning, reading only Watchtower Society material, no blood transfusions, getting remarried ( unless the reason is adultery ), no celebrations of any holidays, strict clothing rules for men and woman, strict hairstyles, ban on beards for men, the woman cannot instruct the congregation, reject most of the entertainment that violates the Society's standards, loyalty to an organization that replaced Jesus as its leader, and many other restrictions you never knew were possible.

In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food. So how can we answer Jesus’ question: “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?” (Matt. 24:45) What evidence is there that the Governing Body is filling that role? Let us consider the same three factors that directed the governing body in the first century.

  I don't think they're talking about the rapture, they're actually saying "Armageddon will come after the last one of us died

  I read it as they are still alive ( still on earth, not in their graves) and gathered to heaven ( raptured )

  14 During the great tribulation, a change will take place regarding the brothers who take the lead on earth. At some point, all anointed ones who are still on earth will be gathered to heaven to share in the war of Armageddon.

  4 Consider, too, the fact that Jehovah’s organization alone, in all the earth, is directed by God’s holy spirit or active force. (Zech. 4:6) Only this organization functions for Jehovah’s purpose and to his praise. To it alone God’s Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book. Many persons of the world are very intelligent, capable of understanding complex matters. They can read the Holy Scriptures, but they cannot understand their deep meaning. Yet God’s people can comprehend such spiritual things. Why? Not because of special intelligence on their part, but as the apostle Paul declared: “For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God.” (1 Cor. 2:10) Jesus Christ praised his heavenly Father for ‘hiding such things from the wise and intellectual ones but revealing them to babes.’ (Matt. 11:25) How very much true Christians appreciate associating with the only organization on earth that understands the “deep things of God”!

  3 Many of these dear brothers and sisters who have become inactive do come back to the congregation, where they are most welcome! Jehovah wants them to come back, and so do we. (1 Pet. 2:25) How can we help? Before we answer that question, it would be good to know why some stop attending meetings and sharing in the ministry.

  Some have become absorbed in secular work.

  Some brothers and sisters are overwhelmed by problems.

  Some of Jehovah’s servants have felt hurt by a fellow believer.

  Or a guilty conscience may torment a person who has broken God’s law in the past, making him feel unworthy of God’s love.

  The writer of Psalm 73 became discouraged when he observed how the wicked seemed to flourish. He questioned whether doing God’s will was worthwhile.

  The prophet Elijah fled from Queen Jezebel. (1 Ki. 19:1-3) He thought that nobody else was serving as a prophet for Jehovah, and he felt that his work had served no purpose. Elijah became so depressed that he wanted to die.

  THE REAL REASONS SOME STOP SERVING JEHOVAH the organization?

  boring and repetitive meetings, 140 years of failed predictions, the disfellowshipping and cruel treatment of former members, pedophile lawsuits, constantly being reminded you're never doing enough for the organization, jealousy, and infighting among the members, the ''organization'' taking over the more important role of Jesus, the twisting of scripture to fit the Watchtower Society narrative, and the 8 ''Governing Body'' members who have exposed themselves like the ''WIZARD OF OZ''
